Trees for Privacy - Windbreaks and Screens

Southern Ontario LandscapingWindbreaks and privacy or screens are popular uses for our evergreens.  They can be planted as a wall or screen to achieve privacy or they can be planted on their own or in groupings as specimens.

Spruce, Fir and Cedar are generally the best for living screens, but pine will work too.  White Pine are fast growing but not as thick with branch material, they will reach up and cover above fences faster to help block out your neighbour’s deck or window.
